Plateau Attacks: Stop Killing Each Other — Fani-Kayode Begs Christians, Muslims

Femi Fani-Kayode, a former minister, has called on Christians and Muslims in Plateau to stop killing one another.

Following rising tensions in the Jos North Local Government Area, the Plateau State Government reintroduced the 24-hour curfew that had previously been eased.

The LG’s Yelwa Zangam village has been attacked, with scores of people murdered, many more injured, and property damaged.

NEWS DIRECT stated that a fresh attack on a Christian village in Yelwa Zangam left 36 people dead, in what appears to be a revenge attack by suspected Islamic hardliners following the recent attack along Rukuba road in Jos, the Plateau State capital.

The Yelwa Zangam Community is located near Manjagap, behind the University of Jos’ Student’s Village.

In reaction to the killings, FFK wrote, “Christians and Muslims are slaughtering each other in Plateau. I watched the videos and was heartbroken.

“This is a defining moment for our country. We must pull back from the brink and build bridges of love, peace and forgiveness. These killings MUST stop and the killers must face justice.”
