Gov. Buni Reacts As Soldiers Foil Boko Haram Attack In Yobe

Mai Mala Buni, the governor of Yobe State, has praised the Nigerian Army and other security agencies for repelling an attempted attack on Babbangida town, the Tarmuwa local government council’s headquarters, on Wednesday.

Governor Buni’s spokesman, Mamman Mohammed, said in a statement released on Thursday that the combatant soldiers’ bravery in repelling the terrorists drove them to flee into the bush.

“We are proud of our gallant troops who have shown great patriotism and superior fire power to deal with the terrorists.

“Your resilience, bravery and gallantry made us all proud, the government and people of Yobe state, and Nigerians in general will continue to be with you”, he assured.

Buni also praised security agents for enhancing the state’s security, which has resulted in greater economic activity.

As a result, he reiterated his administration’s and the people of Yobe State’s support for all security agencies in the state.

Meanwhile, Governor Buni has urged people to remain hopeful about the large repentance of some Boko Haram militants in Borno State.

“We should all pray that the repentance is for real and is the begining of the end of insurgency in Nigeria”, he prayed.
