Ibadan Teachers, Parents Beaten Up At PTA Meeting By Thugs Hired By Student

The state of Oyo has suspended a female student from Ibadan’s Jericho High School for employing goons to assault parents and teachers at a PTA meeting.

Rahman Abiodun Abdu-Raheem, the Commissioner for Education, made the announcement in Ibadan on Tuesday.

Mr Abdu-Raheem claimed that the girl, accompanied by her mother, stormed the school with thugs, attacking a male student, teachers, and other parents during a PTA meeting.

“The mayhem was said to be ignited by the girl’s mother and other accomplices, thereby causing tension in the school. The state government is taking further action to serve as a deterrent to other unguided parents and wards,” said the commissioner.

Mr Abdu-Raheem urged prudence, stating that the Oyo government has a zero-tolerance policy for impunity.

Instead of disrupting the state’s calm, the commissioner urged students, parents, and other stakeholders to take advantage of Governor Seyi Makinde’s free, high-quality education programs.
