Kaduna: Gunmen Storm Ligali Village, Kidnap One, Steal Cows

On Tuesday night, gunmen assaulted the Fulani village in Ligali, along Markarfi Estate in Kaduna State’s Chikun Local Government Area, capturing one and robbing numerous animals.

Malam Idi Mohammed, a local whose father was abducted a month ago, told DAILYPOST in Kaduna on Wednesday that kidnappers have been terrorizing them in their Ligali rural settlement.

The kidnappers, he claims, arrived in huge numbers in the middle of the night and began firing irregularly while hiding behind their hideaway.

“All of a sudden, while we were all asleep, we began to hear the sound of gunshots. During that dark hour of the night, we could not run anywhere because everywhere was dark we only bowed our heads on our beds, praying,” he said.

The gunfire lasted many minutes, according to him, before they stopped.

He claimed that when they went out the next morning to check on their cows and other animals, they noticed that a lot of them were missing.

Several calls to ASP Mohammed Jalige, Police Public Relations Officer, Kaduna Police Command’s mobile phone went unanswered at the time of reporting this story, and he also did not respond to text messages sent to him.
