Ghana Police Rescue 10 Trafficked Nigerians, Arrest Six Traffickers

According to a Ghanaian news outlet, police got an SOS call on Tuesday, July 6.

According to the report, the police investigated the information brought to the scene and determined that a Nigerian named Amas Ekhosuehi, 24, and his five accomplices, all Nigerians, had lured ten young men into Ghana from Nigeria to engage them in online fraud activities.

Several assault marks were seen on the backs of the young males, who seemed pale and hungry.

The victims stated that they were led to Ghana in groups in search of greener pastures. They were imprisoned in a house, unable to leave, and were violently tortured if they demanded food or failed to con an unsuspecting victim.

The five other suspects gave their names as Apostle Sunday aged 27 from Akwarbom State, Monday Echeh aged 25 from Edo State, Aboki O.C aged 21 from Edo State, Patrick Odez aged 26 from Cross River State and Henry Ochuko aged 26 from Edo states,

Their victims are; between the ages of 21 and 24 and said they were from Edo State, Imo State, Ansarawa State, Andrew Musah aged 24 from Ansarawa State, and Amaborgwo Josiah aged 24 from Ansarawa State.

The suspects are currently in custody being processed for court.

The police also retrieved 14 laptops from the house, and the Ghana Immigration Service and the Human Trafficking Unit have been involved to assist with investigations.
