BREAKING: Billionaire Kidnapper, Evans’ Co-defendant Chiemeka Arinze, Dies In Custody

Chiemeka Arinze, a co-defendant of reputed billionaire kidnap kingpin Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, also known as Evans, has died in jail custody.

Evans is on trial with Joseph Emeka, Chiemeka Arinze, and Udeme Upong before Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo of an Ikeja Special Offences Court for the attempted kidnapping of Chief Vincent Obianodo, the Chairman of the Young Shall Grow Motors.

They face a seven-count accusation of murder, attempted murder, kidnapping conspiracy, attempted kidnapping, and guns sale and transfer.

Chemeka Arinze died on Friday, November 26, 2021, according to a source who requested anonymity.

A source quoted by Vangauard said the late defendant’s attorney submitted a bail application with the court last week, citing the defendant’s sickness.

The source also stated that the trial in the case will resume today (Monday), and that the bail application would be heard before they learned of the defendant’s death.

Arinze, who had been unwell, was reportedly transferred from the prison to a General Hospital on Friday, where he died.
