Your Masters Got The Message, Some Of Them Reached Out To Me – Lawal Fires APC’s Morka After Saying Peter Obi Won

Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir David Lawal, has stated that key allies of President Bola Tinubu’s administration reached out to him following his statement that Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, won the last presidential election.

Lawal responded to a statement by the All Progressives Congress (APC) spokesman, Felix Morka, where he was described as incapable of rational thought. Lawal sympathized with Morka, suggesting he was doing a slave’s job. Lawal criticized the APC, labeling it as an Islamic party and accused them of sidelining other religions and tribes. He claimed that critical decisions were being made during afternoon prayer sessions, which he presumed Morka, a Christian, would not attend.

Part of his statement read, “Mallam Felix, your masters got the message loud and clear because some of them have reached out to me for dialogue on the issues raised. But in line with your lower status in the scheme of things you are not aware that all the issues I raised were designed in a manner to deliver a message to a discomfited government that is populated by longstanding friends of mine who appear to have abandoned common sense and patriotism for unbridled personal goals and filthy lucre. And they got the message; which you cannot. In this discourse, you are a remote outsider, so shut up.”

Lawal expressed pity for Christians associated with the Islamic party, asserting that they would not enjoy freedom of speech or pursue ambitions peacefully. He insisted that Peter Obi had the majority votes in the February 25 presidential election, despite alleged irregularities.

Lawal’s statement emphasized the need for a Nigeria that guarantees freedom of speech and expressed concern about the current state of the nation under the APC-led administration. He quoted Wole Soyinka, emphasizing the importance of speaking out against tyranny.
