Wike Vs Fubara: Tinubu Won’t Fold His Arms And Watch – President Speaks

The Presidency has spoken on the political crisis in Rivers State between the camps of Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike.

The Presidency affirmed that President Bola Tinubu will not remain silent when faced with escalating crises in various states, citing his recent interventions in the political turmoil in Ondo and Rivers State.

Despite claims that Tinubu’s actions may undermine state governments, his media adviser, Ajuri Ngelale, views these interventions as a necessary and positive step.

Ngelale emphasized Tinubu’s commitment to intervening in states grappling with political crises, especially if such developments pose a threat to the overall stability of the country. Speaking on Channels Television’s News Night, Ngelale stated, “If the President sees that, he is not going to sit by as the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and fold his hands and keep quiet. I think that is what he has done.”

He continued, “That is to say if you are the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and your primary objective is to make sure that the Nigerian people are safe; that they are able to operate in an environment that is stable and does not place them in any form of insecurity, then you know that if a political crisis is devolving into something that is generating manmade insecurity, then the president needs to step in, and he took that wise decision to step in.”
