The 16th President Of Rotary Club Of Ojodu Unveiled
History was recreated on Sunday, June 27, 2020 when the baton of leadership was handed over to ROTARIAN EZENWA OPARA as the 16th President of the Rotary Club of Ojodu.
Speaking during her valedictorian speech, the outgoing President of the Club, ROTARIAN NONYE UCHE-NWACHUKWU expressed gratitude to members of the club and other corporate bodies that supported the club during her tenure. Enumerating her achievements which cut across the 6 areas of Rotary, with high points on the Provision of 8 blocks of Modern Toilets facility and Water supply projects at Ojodu Junior Grammar School, Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening and awareness for women of Ojodu Community, mounting of several electronic bill boards for ‘’Keep Polio AT Zero Campaign’’ at major cities in Nigeria, etc. She further called on members of the club to give their maximum support to her predecessor.
In his acceptance speech, the President, ROTARIAN EZENWA OPARA said that Rotarians exist because of their impacts to their immediate communities and thanked the outgoing President with a Pat on the back, describing her as a wonderful, dedicated and hardworking lady, who strived day and night to inspire every member of the club in order to achieve the goal.
The President enumerated areas of his focus for the opportunities year presidency which kicks off from July 01, 2020 and terminates July 01, 2021as follows:
Membership growth and engagement; Building Partnership and networking; Consolidating on major projects; Leadership training, among others. He expressed delight at the opportunity given to him to serve and promised to keep the flag flying.
Rotarian Ezenwa Opara before ascending the present position has served the Club as Public Image Chair for {2018-2019 & 2019-2020} and United Secretary for 2019-2020. He is a Media and Public Relations Practitioner with years of experience. A member of the Nigerian Institute Of Public Relations and Canadian Institute of Marketing. Alumni of both University of Abuja and University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He has attended several trainings in Leadership and service, Community Journalism and Social Media, etc. A devout Catholic and President of Lagos Archdiocesan Council of Board of Lectors. His desire to render service to humanity pushed him to join Rotary Club of Ojodu few years ago. He is married to MRS. EZENWA-OPARA CHINASA and the marriage is blessed with 3 beautiful daughters.
