Tension As INEC Stops Collation Of Results In Bayelsa, Makes New Decision

The ongoing Bayelsa State governorship election has witnessed the adjournment of coalition of results amid tension generated by the exercise.

This decision was made by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The announcement was made on Saturday night by the Returning Officer for the election, Faruk Adamu Kuta, at the INEC Collation Centre in Yenagoa, the state capital.

The Returning Officer disclosed that the coalition process, initially scheduled for completion on Saturday, will resume at 10:00 am on Sunday.

The decision to adjourn aims to ensure a thorough and accurate compilation of the election results, emphasizing the importance of a meticulous and transparent electoral process. The INEC Collation Centre will serve as the venue for the continued coalition of results.
