Sleepy Buhari Making Corruption To Run Rampant In Nigeria – American Economist, Steve Hanke

As Nigeria continues to see an increase in corruption, Steve H Hanke, an American applied economist from John Hopkins University in Baltimore, has taken a jab at President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.

Remember that the All Progressive Congress’s campaign slogan in 2015 when they ran for the presidency was “CHANGE.”

President Buhari, who was the party’s presidential candidate at the time, also assured Nigerians that he would fight corruption and bring corrupt politicians to court.

However, since the APC-led administration seized power in 2015, there has been a public outcry over the high level of corruption. This has been complicated by the country’s deteriorating security situation.

However, Hanke disclosed in a tweet on Thursday that corruption has continued to run rampant in Nigeria under the “watchful eye” of President Buhari, who claimed to be combatting corruption.

“Thanks to the “watchful” eye of Drowsy Buhari, corruption continues to run rampant in #Nigeria,” Hanke said, labeling Buhari as a sleepy president.

“Just look at Nigeria’s terrible “Control of Corruption” ranking by @WorldBank.

“Nigeria is at the bottom of the barrel,” he wrote.
