PDP Denies Suspending Atiku Campaign Over Wike

The PDP Presidential Campaign Council (PDP) has disputed that it has stopped holding rallies.

According to sources, the party made this decision in response to the dispute between presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar and governor of the Rivers Nyesom Wike.

The director of strategic communications, Dele Momodu, responded by calling the rumors untrue.

The party’s campaign, which kicked off this week in the capital of Akwa Ibom, Uyo, was verified by the spokesperson to be on track.

“Absolute falsehood…unlike the APC which is yet to put its act together, our Atiku/Okowa Presidential Campaign Council has taken off at supersonic speed. See you soon in Kaduna by God’s grace,” Momodu said.

It was claimed the rallies were suspended at the instance of Atiku who was said to have dispatched three PDP stalwarts to speak with Wike.

The mediators are reportedly ex-Senate President David Mark, former Rivers Governor Peter Odili and former Delta Governor James Ibori.
