Obasanjo, Secondus In Closed-Door Meeting Amid PDP Crisis
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo met with Prince Uche Secondus, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) National Chairman.
The PDP’s National Working Committee was also present at the closed-door meeting in Abeokuta, Ogun State (NWC).
The purpose of the meeting was unknown at the time of filing this report.
Obasanjo, a former member of the PDP, openly deserted the party years ago.
After publicly ripping his membership card, the former president stepped away from politics.
Meanwhile, there have been calls for Secondus to resign from the PDP.
Secondus has been accused of mismanaging the affairs of the previous ruling party.
Several PDP leaders have recently switched to the All Progressives Congress, or APC.
Three state governors, federal and state lawmakers, and a member of the PDP’s Board of Trustees (BOT) have all defected to the APC.
