Nigerian Army Releases Photos Of Boko Haram, ISWAP Terrorists After Surrender

Boko Haram and Islamic State’s West Africa Province (ISWAP) militants who surrendered this month have been identified by the Nigerian Army.

In a statement released on Monday, Onyema Nwachukwu, Director of Public Relations, claimed that between August 2 and 4, 2021, a large number of terrorists surrendered.

According to the official, the development has prompted concern among the sects’ camps.

The army claims that jihadist groups’ strength and fighting efficiency have been weakened as a result of the evacuation of top commanders and foot fighters.

On the 14th of August, more fighters surrendered with their families at Mafa Local Government Area, according to Nwachukwu.

At Forward Operating Base (FOB) Ajiri, a total of 186 people, including 67 adult males, 54 adult females, and 65 children, surrendered to forces from Operation Hadin Kai.

They submitted six AK 47 guns, magazines, a locally created handgun, and eight locally fabricated daggers, led by their Amir, Manye Aga.

The Theatre Command acquired possession of another group of fighters on August 15, including four adult males, eleven adult females, and 18 youngsters.

They marched from the villages of Landanli, Azah, Ngaridua, and Kondilla to the 151 Task Force Battalion at Banki Junction in Bama.

“ISWAP is yet to come to terms with the reality of its current predicament, which has posed serious negative impact on its processing”, the statement added.

According to NEWS DIRECT, over 1,500 terrorists and their families have surrendered in the last four months.
