Nigeria Will Start Producing Airplanes Before Buhari Leaves Office — Sirika

Nigerian airplane manufacture will begin before President Muhammadu Buhari leaves office, according to the federal government.

When Hadi Sirika paid an inspection visit to the Magnus Aircraft Industry in Pogany, Hungary, he gave the hint.

In a statement, James Odaudu, the ministry’s spokesman, said, “If we venture with them, we may start with assembling plant and later manufacturing.”

The Magnus aircraft, according to Sirika, is light, suitable for military training, has an aerobatic maneuver, and is constructed of high-strength composite materials.

He went on to say that the plane runs on regular vehicle gasoline and surpasses any training aircraft of its sort.

The minister expressed delight with the features and emphasized his willingness to help the country’s production.

According to Sirika, this will help Nigeria become a regional aviation superpower since maintenance and repair facilities will draw in customers from neighboring countries.

The collaboration will be scrutinized further to ensure that the market and government are willing to release large sums of money and logistics.

Meanwhile, the Buhari administration has failed to establish a national carrier in more than six years in power.

Sirika, a self-described “Buharist,” has predicted the launch of Nigeria Air at least three times.

He promised in March 2020 that the prospective airline will start flying local routes in the third quarter of 2021.

Sirika stated in May 2021 that the airline could begin operations in the first quarter of 2022. COVID-19, according to the ministry, is to blame.

Even though August is coming to an end, there are no clear signs that Nigerians would see a state-owned aviation service early next year.
