Man sells mother to ritual killers for N7 million in Ondo
A middle age man has sold his mother to suspected ritual killers for a sum of N7 million in Ondo, in Ondo West Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The buyers of the 60 years old woman was said to have thought she had hunchback not knowing it was as a result of sickness when she was a baby.
The Ondo community was on Friday night thrown into pandemonium, following the missing of the 60 year-old woman with supposed hunchback, Mrs Rukayat Abodunde.
The woman was whisked away by gunmen in her house.
Sources in the town said the woman who was thought to have been kidnapped by some people. It was discovered that she was not actually kidnapped but sold to the suspected ritual killers by her son at N7 million naira.
The victim who was described by an eyewitness as a fish seller was inside her house when the gunmen disguised as if they wanted to buy fish before she was taken away at Ayetoro street, Eso in Ondo kingdom.
Eyewitness said the matter became public knowledge when the gunmen discovered that the woman’s hunchback was not from heaven and wanted their money back.
But the son was said to have told the suspected killers to return his mother alive before they can collect their money because the mother has been killed by the gunmen.
It was explained by an eyewitness that the woman did not have hunchback from birth but fell when she was a baby which led to the hunch on her back.
Although, details of the incident remained, sketchy as at the time of filing this report, it was however, reliably gathered that, the son have use part of the money to buy cloths for his mother before she was taken away.
The boy had also used part of the money to paint the house they were living.
According to police investigation, it was gathered that some people called them that there was robbery in that street but before getting to the scene of the crime the woman has been taken away by the gunmen.
The police sources said investigation is ongoing and nobody has been arrested yet.
The remains of the woman have not been seen as at the time of filing this report.
