JUST IN: Head of Planned Parenthood Nigeria, Ibrahim Ibrahim Is Dead
Dr Ibrahim Ibrahim, the Executive Director of the Nigerian Planned Parenthood Federation, has died.
According to sources close to the family, the deceased was killed in a car accident in Abuja on Sunday morning, which also killed two others.
There has been no official statement from the family as of the time of filing this report.
Between 1997 and 2000, Mr Ibrahim worked at the PPFN as an Assistant Director (Service Delivery and Information, Education, and Communication).
He served as the organization’s Director of Operations from 2000 to 2001, and then as its Executive Director until now.
Mr Ibrahim previously worked for the Jigawa State Ministry of Health as an Assistant Director.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery from Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria in 1989 and a master’s degree in applied population research from the University of Exeter in the United Kingdom in 2000.
