Aisha Yesufu Hints On New Political Party Ahead Of 2023 Presidential Election
Aisha Yesufu, a well-known activist, has hinted at the formation of a new political party ahead of the 2023 presidential election.
The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), according to Aisha, will not offer competent candidates to lead the country.
Although there are people with competence, character, and capacity in the two major parties, the Edo-born activist believes that power brokers will never allow them to succeed.
She said: “APC and PDP have people with competence, character and capacity to lead Nigeria right but they will never be allowed by the power brokers who want those they can control and not those that can do the right thing.
“It is in our own interest to have a party that will encourage competence.”
Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the APC’s national leader, is thought to be among the top contenders for the party’s ticket, though he has yet to make a public announcement.
