Investigation Into Abduction Of Bayelsa SSG‘s Mother Begins, One Arrested
The Nigerian Army has captured a 27-year-old suspect 25 days after the kidnapping of Madam Bentinal Benson, the 86-year-old mother of the Secretary to the State Government of Bayelsa State.
The culprit was apprehended just days after the Nigerian Army took over the investigation into the kidnapping.
The kidnappers had previously sought N500 million in ransom for her release.
It had previously been stated that her kidnappers, who broke into her home in the old Assembly quarters, Azikoro road, Yenagoa, were clothed in military attire.
The suspect, named Stanley Woniowei, is a native of the Olugbobiri community in the state’s Southern Ijaw Local Government region.
The Nigerian Army’s 16 Brigade is leading a joint effort with various security services in the state to recover the abducted 86-year-old victim, according to DAILY POST.

The accused suspect was allegedly involved in the kidnapping on July 20th at the Old State Legislators quarters off Azikoro road in the Ekeki region of the state, according to investigations.
