JUST IN: Sister Of Murdered Nigerian Army General, Hassan Ahmed, Released

After thirteen days in captivity, Sabina, the sister of the late Major General Hassan Ahmed, has been released.

On July 15, between 7 and 8 p.m., the former Provost Marshal (PM) of the Nigerian Army was assassinated in Abuja’s Abaji neighborhood.

In accordance with Islamic customs, Ahmed was laid to rest at the Lungi Barracks Cemetery in the nation’s capital.

On his way back from a trip to Okene in Kogi, gunmen ambushed and assassinated the top military officer, according to NEWS DIRECT.

Sergeant Bukar, Ahmed’s driver, drove him in a Toyota Hilux with a private license plate number. He didn’t have any bodyguards around him.

Sabina, his sister, was kidnapped by the assailants, who initially mistook her for his wife. For more than three days following the tragedy, her whereabouts were unclear.

The victim is finally free, according to a source close to the family, who contacted DAILY POST on Wednesday.

“I’m happy to inform you that General Ahmed’s sister, Sabina is back. She was released today.

“A good man, just about 50 years old, was killed; his sister was held hostage for two weeks.

“For us, these are trying moments. But in all, we thank Almighty God.”

The woman, who is in her 30s, is also said to be severely traumatized. She is currently receiving medical treatment in a secure area.

Faruk Yahaya, the Chief of Army Staff, nominated Ahmed as a Director at Army Headquarters in Abuja.

The former Prime Minister took office less than two weeks before his death.

The president’s continuing quiet following the General’s assassination has been criticized by critics.
