Former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Alhaji Ghalli Na’abba, has passed away. The circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear, but sources indicate that he breathed his last around 3 am on Wednesday. While there are reports of his demise occurring at an FCT hospital, this information is yet to be verified.

Na’abba, who represented Kano Municipal Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives in 1999, later ascended to the position of Speaker with the support of fellow House members from Kano and the North West geo-political zone.

  1. Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu

Ondo State Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, aged 67, has succumbed to a prolonged illness. Family and authoritative government sources have confirmed his passing on Wednesday morning. The governor had been battling an undisclosed illness, rumored to be leukaemia.

Having handed over power to his Deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, on December 13, Governor Akeredolu had earlier sought treatment in Germany as his health deteriorated. However, before his death, he was said to be receiving treatment in Lagos Nigeria. He leaves behind his wife, Betty, and four children, marking the end of a significant chapter in Nigerian politics.
