Veteran Actress, Rachael Oniga Is Dead
Rachael Oniga, a veteran Nollywood actress, has died.
According to Seun Oloketuyi, a prominent Nigerian media personality, the movie actor who has been in hundreds of films passed away in the early hours of morning, Saturday, July 31.
According to a source, she died from COVID-19 complications on Friday, July 30th.
Rachel Oniga was born on May 23, 1957, in Ebutte Metta, Lagos State, to parents from Eku, Delta State in southern Nigeria.
Her acting career began shortly after her divorce in 1993. She worked briefly for Ascoline Nigeria Limited, a Dutch consulting firm, before starring in her first film, Onome, and her first Yoruba film, Owo Blow. Oniga has been in a number of important Nigerian films, including Sango, a film written by Wale Ogunyemi and directed by Obafemi Lasode, as well as Wale Adenuga’s television series Super tale.
