How Police Officer Allegedly Killed DSS Operative In Imo

An operator of the Department of State Services (DSS), known as Prince Nwachinaemere Ezemuonye Ozuzu, was allegedly shot dead by an unidentified police officer, instilling alarm among security agencies in Imo State.

According to the deceased brother, Destiny Nwozuzu, the heinous crime took place on Monday at Mgbidi – Awo /Owerri Onitsha route in Imo State.

He stated the 38-year-old was shot four times by a police officer, not once as alleged by DSS officials, and not by unknown gunmen.

He revealed that a police officer on a joint taskforce squad stomped on the father of four on his right chest while attempting to fire warning rounds in response to the suspected gunmen shooting firearms.

According to another source who requested anonymity, the deceased and his comrades were shooting indiscriminately when a stray bullet struck the DSS officer.

He was just elevated, according to DAILY POST findings.

Our correspondent further learned that several youngsters from the deceased community, Irete, in Owerri West, were preparing a demonstration to the DSS office tomorrow morning to express their objections.

The Imo State Police command, Michael Abattamwhen when contacted said,” I don’t have such information yet. If a police officer had killed somebody we should have known by now.”

The police spokesman said, “You can go to the DSS for further confirmation my brother.”

All efforts made to reach the DSS PRO proved abortive as DAILY POST correspondent was told that Department of State Security Service does not have spokesperson at the state level.
