How Notorious Kidnapper, Dogo Oro, Met His Sad End While Shooting People

A suspected notorious kidnapper known as Dogo Oro met his demise at the hands of a vigilante group in Tunga village, Tilli ward, Bunza Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

The apprehension and subsequent killing of Dogo Oro, believed to be responsible for the wave of kidnappings in parts of Bunza and Kalgo LGAs, were confirmed by Ahmed Idris, the Chief Press Secretary to the Kebbi State Governor, in a statement issued on Friday.

Quoting the Director of Security, Cabinet Office, Abdulrahman Usman, Idris confirmed the incident while providing an update on the state’s security situation. Usman detailed the encounter, stating, “The suspected notorious bandit appeared this morning shooting people with a bow and arrow, but our vigilante men gunned him down.” The confirmation was further supported by Sanusi Ibrahim-Geza, Kebbi State Commander of the Vigilante, who affirmed the occurrence as reported by their Bunza LGA Commander, C/suv Faruku Mashayabo.

The success achieved by the vigilante group has instilled hope among the local residents, as expressed by Usman. He noted, “With this development, members of the community would now settle down and go about their normal businesses.”

The incident reflects the continued efforts of vigilante groups in collaborating with security forces to address and curb criminal activities in the region.
