Gunmen Kidnap Abia Journalist From Home, Demand N10million Ransom

Mr Chuks Onuha, a journalist, was reportedly kidnapped from his home in Umuhu, Ohuhu, in the Umuahia North Local Government Area of Abia State.

Onuha is a former Sun Newspapers Abia State Correspondent, according to reports.

Onuha was eating dinner with his family on Tuesday night when the gunmen burst into their home and kidnapped him, according to the Daily Sun.

It was further revealed that in the early hours of Wednesday, the kidnappers phoned his family and demanded a N10 million ransom.

When contacted by phone, his wife confirmed the development. As a result, she pleaded with the kidnappers to unconditionally free her husband for the sake of their young children.

On Tuesday, SaharaReporters also reported that gunmen in police uniforms struck in the Federal Capital Territory kidnapped three pregnant women, two children and 12 others in Abuja.
