Gov Ayade Wants NECO Exams Compulsory In Cross River

Professor Ben Ayade, the Governor of Cross River State, has ordered that all National Examination Council (NECO) examinations be made compulsory for students in the state.

This is in response to a request made by Prof. Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, the Registrar/Chief Executive of NECO, during a courtesy visit to the governor in Calabar on Tuesday.

The National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE), the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), and the Senior School Certificate Examination are the exams in question, according to the governor (SSCE).

He expressed satisfaction with Cross River Indigenes’ success in the NECO SSCE during the last five years.

Ayade stated that the state must participate in all NECO-conducted examinations, praising them for boosting the country’s educational quality.

He stated that the state government will continue to assist NECO in carrying out its job.

Wushishi responded by praising the government for its constructive attitude toward the council.

He explained that NECO, as the country’s only national indigenous examination body, deserved all Nigerians’ support.
