Court Fixes Date For Igboho Aides’ Trial

On Tuesday, July 20, the Federal High Court in Abuja will hear a claim filed by 12 aides of Yoruba nation activist, Sunday Adeyemo, also known as Sunday Igboho, against the Department of State Services (DSS).

After two judges initially rejected to take up the case when it was assigned to their courts, it was found that Justice Obiora Egwuatu is poised to rule over it.

DSS operatives arrested and detained some of Igboho’s accomplices on July 1, 2021, following a raid on Igboho’s apartment in the Soka district of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, according to NEWS DIRECT.

The secret police further claimed that during a “gun duel” in which Igboho narrowly escaped, it “gunned down” two of the activist’s colleagues.

Later, he was designated sought for allegedly stockpiling weapons, which he disputed.
