Commissioner Defrauds Special Assistant Of N2.2m, Arraigned In Court

The Adamawa State Commissioner for Special Duties, Faruk Sanusi, has been accused of defrauding Saidu Muhammed, Special Assistant to the Governor of the state, Ahmadu Fintiri.

Sanusi allegedly purchased a Toyota Camry car from Muhammed for N2.5 million in September 2020 and only paid N230,000 out of the total sum.

All entreaties to the Commissioner to pay the balance since then have fallen on his deaf ears leading to Muhammed lodging a complaint with the police to assist him in retrieving the balance of N2.2 million from the Commissioner.

Consequent to this, the Commissioner was arraigned at the Upper Area Court 3 in Yola for alleged fraud.

After taking the plea, Justice Umar Isa granted the Commissioner bail on the condition of producing a reliable surety, who must either be a Commissioner, a Permanent Secretary, or a civil servant not below Grade Level 15.
