BREAKING: Senate Finally Receives President Tinubu’s Ministerial list

The Nigerian Senate has finally received the highly-anticipated ministerial list from President Bola Tinubu.

This comes after the president had sent the list to Senate President, Godswill Akpabio in the early hours of today.

News Direct can authoritatively report that there were many expectations from Nigerians that the Senate President will read the list today.

However, the Red Chambers was forced to go into executive session shortly after Akpabio commenced the day’s plenary.

The closed-door session started at exactly 12.15 pm after the adoption of votes and proceedings of plenary held on Wednesday, July 26, 2023.

Before the Senators went into their closed-door meeting, a Senator told Blueprint Newspapers that the Senate is expected to defer its annual recess, which ought to have commenced today.

“You know the Senate and the House of Representatives are supposed to embark on 6-week annual long recess from today, but with the transmission of names of ministerial nominees to us by President Bola Tinubu for screening and confirmation, we have to decide whether to wait for one week to do that or go for the recess and come for the assignment in between.”
