BREAKING: Lawmakers Raise Concern Over Fraudulent Practices, Summon Tinubu’s Minister

The House of Representatives has issued a summons to the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Betta Edu.

The lawmakers requested her presence to provide updates on the Federal Government’s conditional cash transfer program for 15 million households.

In a motion of urgent public importance, the House expressed concern about the program’s handling and raised questions about transparency, highlighting instances of fraudulent practices.

The minister is expected to furnish details on the data collation process and fund distribution. The Renewed Hope Conditional Cash Transfer program, launched by President Bola Tinubu in mid-October, aims to assist vulnerable citizens.

The program entails monthly transfers of N25,000 for three months, totaling N75,000 for each beneficiary among the 15 million households, representing 62 million Nigerians.
