BREAKING: Ex-President Jonathan’s Former Aide, Kingsley Kuku Arrested Over Child Pornography

Kingsley Kuku, the former Special Adviser on Niger Delta Affairs to former President Goodluck Jonathan, was arrested in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, on child pornography charges.

Kuku allegedly circulated child pornographic materials in 2018, according to information available to SaharaReporters.

According to SaharaReporters, the former Chairman of the Presidential Amnesty Program was arrested on Wednesday at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol on his route to London, United Kingdom.

“Kingsley Kuku was apprehended in Amsterdam,” a high-ranking government source told SaharaReporters.

“His warrant was served in response to allegations of child pornography. He was detained four days ago on his way to London.

“After his arrest at Schiphol, he has been fighting extradition. He was flying from Accra, Ghana, with a stopover in Amsterdam.

“In 2018, he allegedly spread child pornography.”

Kuku was elected to the Ondo State House of Assembly and served for four years as Chairman of the House Committee.

In January 2011, he was named Special Adviser on the Niger Delta to former President Goodluck Jonathan and Chairman of the Niger Delta Presidential Amnesty Programme.

After the general elections in 2011, Jonathan reappointed him to the same office.

Kuku led the disarmament and demobilization of 30,000 ex-agitators as Chairman of the Presidential Amnesty Program for ex-agitators in oil-bearing areas in the Niger Delta.

According to a September 2020 investigation by THEWILL, billions of naira stolen from the Presidential Amnesty Programme by Kuku were transferred to bank accounts in the United States, where they were laundered and used to acquire planes for Air Peace, as well as luxury residences and vehicles.

Air Peace, which began operations in 2013, is Nigeria’s largest airline, with a fleet of roughly 20 planes.

Allen Onyema, the airline’s CEO, was described by the US government as Kuku’s business partner who laundered at least $44 million through US bank accounts.
