BREAKING: Bandits Attack Church In Kaduna, Kill Doctor, Kidnap Many Worshippers
One individual was killed when gunmen suspected of being bandits attacked Haske Baptist Church in Manini Tasha village, Chukun Local Government Area, Kaduna state.
The gunmen who stormed the church around 10 a.m. abducted an unspecified number of worshippers, according to SaharaReporters.
Dr. Zakariah Dogo Yaro, a medical doctor with the Kaduna State Ministry of Health, was named as the deceased.
Bandit kidnappings are common in Kaduna, one of Nigeria’s most populous states.
Greenfield University, a private institution in Chukun LGA, was abducted on April 20 by an undisclosed number of students. The assault also resulted in the shooting of a security guard.
Approximately 40 students are reported to be missing from the private university, despite the lack of official confirmation.
Three of the students were discovered dead a few days after they were kidnapped.
After an attack by gunmen on April 22, two nurses were kidnapped from Idon Hospital in Kajuru LGA of the state.
The armed men allegedly entered the hospital through the fence, opened fire, and kidnapped the nurses working the night shift.
