BREAKING: Another Explosion Hits Abeokuta Barely 24 Hours After Obasanjo Library Incident

Another gas explosion happened on the premises of the CSCC construction yard in Abeokuta’s Onikoko neighborhood.

This comes just 24 hours after a similar incident occurred at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in the state capital.

Two persons were said to have been critically injured as a result of the explosion, and they were brought to a local hospital for treatment.

A loaded gas cylinder exploded when it wasn’t in use, according to reports.

Many buildings along the Onikoko-Adigbe axis were damaged, as were vehicles and a teacher in a classroom at St. Louis College in Abeokuta.

Barrister Femi Ogunbanwo, the State Commissioner for Special Duties, Kehinde Onasanya, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, and other state officials have assessed the scene of the occurrence on the spot.

The management of the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library acknowledged to SaharaReporters on Thursday that a gas explosion happened in the library, resulting in the death of one individual.

This was revealed in a statement supplied to SaharaReporters by Vitalis Ortese, the Managing Director of Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Ventures.

He stated that similar events have been reported around the state in the last week, and he called for a thorough investigation by the competent authorities.

According to him, the explosion occurred yesterday while a pair of technological vendors were performing normal maintenance on the air conditioning equipment, resulting in the death of one technology vendor and significant harm to another.

He did clarify, however, that everyone else who was on the premises at the time of the incident was safe.
