How NNPC Staff Bought Two Flats For N260 Million, Paid N140 Cash, Transfers

Abbey Signature Limited has filed a complaint with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation’s Group Managing Director, Mele Kyari, regarding the misconduct of one of its officials, Asabe Waziri.

Abbey Signature claimed in a letter dated March 4, 2022, to the NNPC GMD and CEO of NNPC Limited that Waziri had broken every agreement on the two units of N260 million luxurious property in Abuja.

Victor Giwa, the company’s lawyer, sent the letter, alleging that Waziri had engaged in aggression, criminal intimidation, and public annoyance.

The property development company also claimed that, as a result of Waziri’s wrongdoing, it went to court and obtained an injunction requiring him to evacuate the property.

The case was heard by Justice Othman Musa of Court 7 in the Federal Capital Territory.

Waziri has refused to leave the premises, according to the corporation, and has instead resorted to scandalous behavior on the property.

Abbey requested that Kyari ask Waziri to vacate the premises.

As a result, the firm asked Kyari to persuade Waziri to leave the property.

She’s an annoyance and unbearable, according to the firm.

According to the suit, Waziri, who appeared to be an entrepreneur at first but was subsequently discovered to be a NNPC employee, disrupted and degraded Abbey Signature’s services.

Waziri sought to buy one of the two-bedroom flats in their complex for N130 million, but ended up buying two for N260 million, according to the firm.

According to the corporation, Waziri began acting in ways that were unfit for a public official soon after she took custody of the units.

Waziri’s payment method was questionable, according to Abbey Signature, because she made multiple large cash payments to the management team, which violated section 15 of the Money Laundering Act and all agreements and guidelines controlling the conduct of residents on the premises.

Asabe Waziri is no longer on the court.

Waziri allegedly assaulted the company’s employees and officials on the premises, according to the company.

Waziri can no longer claim ownership of the premises, according to the court’s judgement of February 17, 2022, which also ordered her to depart the premises while her money is repaid to her.

Abbey Signature allegedly returned Waziri N140 million plus an additional N10 million, totaling N150 million.

A FIRS official who earned over N300 million in travel allowance falsely turns up N104 million in property to the court.

According to Legit.ng, the Economic and Financial Commission (EFCC), Nigeria’s anti-corruption agency, has won an interim forfeiture of two properties valued about N104 million that belong to Aminu Sidi Garunbaba, a Federal Inland Revenue employee.

The EFCC filed an application under Section 17 of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offenses Act of 2006, through its lawyer, Ekele Iheanacho.

As he ruled on the motion, the presiding judge, Justice Obiora Egwuatu of the Federal High Court, Abuja division, granted the order on Wednesday, February 16, 2022.
