BREAKING: Again, Fani-Kayode Leaves EFCC’s Custody
Chief Femi-Kayode, a former Minister of Aviation, was released from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) custody following an 8-hour “quiz.”
It was previously reported that the ex-minister was summoned by the anti-graft agency for a brief interrogation about the forgery of a document.
Fani-Kayode and 14 others are on trial for allegedly misappropriating N3.8 billion between January and March 2015.
Fani-Kayode had been in court earlier today with the former Minister of Finance and a few other defendants accused of falsifying paperwork.
The EFCC was said to have invited FFK to its office for a quiz shortly after the court’s decision.
However, contrary to media reports, Fani-Kayode stated in a tweet as of the time of reporting this story that he had not been detained.
He said, “ Once again I was invited to the EFCC today. Once again, despite media reports, I was NOT arrested but invited. I got there at 11.00 am and I have just been released. Thanks be to God”.
