Boko Haram: Nigerian Air Force Combat Aircraft ‘Disappears’

One of Nigeria’s aircraft lost radar communication while on a flight, according to the Nigerian Air Force.

Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet said in a statement on Wednesday that the plane was on a “on routine mission in support of own troops at one of the Theatres of Operation in the Northern part of Nigeria”.

“Efforts are currently ongoing to locate its whereabouts. Details to follow”.

He did not, however, tell how many people were on board.

Gabkwet also declined to state whether the plane crashed in Nigeria’s north east, northwest, or even north central regions.

On the 21st of February, an Air Force plane on its way to Minna, Niger, crashed in Abuja.

The B350 plane crashed on the final approach route of Abuja Runway 22 killing all six people on board.

In other news, President Muhammadu Buhari flew from Nigeria’s shores to London, United Kingdom, via Abuja International Airport on Tuesday afternoon.

According to Naija News, the President flew out of the country in one of the presidential fleet’s planes.

Buhari is not scheduled to return to Nigeria until the second week of April, according to a statement made by his spokesperson, Femi Adesina, on Monday when the president’s trip was announced to Nigerians.

Remember that the president spent over 150 days in the UK in 2017 battling an unspecified illness, and that he returned to the UK for four days in May 2018 to see his doctor.
