2023: Pastor Tunde Bakare Gives Condition To Run For Presidency After Meeting Buhari.
Pastor Tunde Bakare, the founder of Citadel Global Community Church (previously known as Latter Rain Assembly), has stated that if God and Nigerians urge him to, he will run for president in 2023.
The cleric stated this after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari in Aso Rock on Friday.
Bakare was Buhari’s running mate in the 2011 general election on the platform of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC).
When asked whether he would contest the 2023 presidential election, Bakare told State House correspondents that he would, only if God and Nigerians want him to.
He added, “I’m a nation builder. If God wants me to do that, and the people of Nigeria will appreciate that, why not?
“I’m as free as anybody to do anything. I have pastored a church for 33 years, now we raise new leaders. I want to focus on nation-building.
“I have already communicated clearly, my future plans to Mr. President, and it stays between us.”
