You’re our leader… Fayose tells Makinde after months of feud

After months of feud, ex-governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has acknowledged that the leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the SouthWest is Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State.

He disclosed this on Monday while speaking at the ongoing zonal congress  of the party in Osogbo, capital of Osun.

While the congress ought to have held on Saturday, the feud forced the party to change the venue, and date.

Before now, Fayose claimed that leaders agreed at a meeting hosted at Makinde house that a former Ondo State Information Commissioner, Eddy Olafeso, should take the position of National Vice Chairman (Southwest) of the PDP

But Makinde wants a former deputy governor of Oyo, Taofeek Arapaja.

Mr Fayose in a statement at the congress said no matter the situation, Makinde is “our leader”, promising to accept the outcome in good faith.

“Under this gathering, you are our father,” Mr Fayose told Makinde.

Makinde also said “I will accept the outcome of the congress. And there will be no winner and loser in the election. It is a family affair. Good development.”
