Wike Vs Fubara: PDP Moves To Deal With Ex-Governor

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has resolved to take action over the lingering crisis in Rivers State.

The party specifically issued a warning to former Jigawa State governor, Sule Lamido, and others criticizing the party’s leadership regarding the Rivers State chapter crisis, threatening to impose sanctions on them.

Following an emergency meeting at the party’s headquarters on Thursday evening, Debo Ologunagba, the national publicity secretary, assured members that the leadership’s intervention was yielding positive results.

Lamido, in a message on his verified Facebook page on Wednesday, had called on the NWC to resign if they lacked the courage to address the ongoing crisis between Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara and Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike.

In response to Lamido’s criticism, the NWC expressed “serious displeasure over incautious conduct, activities and unguarded utterances by certain leaders who are out to disparage critical organs of the party, inflame passions, cause division among members and bring our dear party to public disrepute for their selfish reasons.”
