WIKE: More Trouble For Fubara As Mass Resignation Hits His Govt

Rivers State’s Executive Council is experiencing a notable upheaval with a recent wave of resignations from the cabinet of Governor Siminalayi Fubara which may not be unconnected with his clash with his predecessor, Nyesom Wike.

Not less than five Commissioners of the Governor have stepped down in the past few days. Those departing include Commissioners Inime Aguma (Social Welfare), Dr. Kelly George (Works), Isaac Kamalu (Finance), Prof. Zaccheaus Adangor (Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice), and Prof. Prince Mmom (Education).

Each official submitted their formal resignation letters to Governor Sim Fubara, citing personal reasons for their decision to step down. Prof. Prince Mmom, the most recent to resign as the Commissioner for Education, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve in the administration and extended well wishes for the governance of Rivers State moving forward.

The departure of Chukwuemeka Woke adds significance to the ongoing shake-up within the state’s governance structure. The resignations are believed to be linked to perceived friction between Governor Sim Fubara and former Governor Wike, currently serving as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, contributing to a running political battle between the two in recent weeks.
