Unknown Gunmen Shoot Dead Hausa, Igbo Meat Sellers In Imo Community

Unidentified gunmen attacked the Umulogho hamlet in Imo State’s Ehime Mbano Local Government Area, murdering three individuals.

Two Hausa and Igbo meat dealers were among the three individuals killed, according to SaharaReporters, without the assistance of security officials.

“This incident happened at a village, Oriagu Ehime Mbano LGA. Gunmen came there on Friday and opened fire on a Hausa man selling suya, leaving him dead with one other Igbo man who was selling suya with him.

“It breaks my heart to see this sad news. He was an Hausa man but loved by several Igbo. He has been in my village since I was small,” a source told SaharaReporters.

Michael Abattam, spokesperson of Imo state police command, confirmed the incident.

“It’s confirmed, three dead. Details soonest please,” he said.

There have been attacks by gunmen in Imo in recent times.

The attacks have been blamed on the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) — but the group has repeatedly denied the allegation.
