Tinubu Drops Cryptic Post After Rumours Over Jibrin’s Defection

Bola Tinubu, a senior member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and a presidential candidate, says he supports his party “100 percent.”

Tinubu posted a photo of the APC flag to his Twitter page on Sunday.

The photo was accompanied by a simple “100” message.

The APC leader’s post came just hours after Abdulmumin Jibrin, the director-general of the Tinubu support group council, announced his departure from the party.

Jibrin, a former member of the House of Representatives, said on Saturday that he will declare his new political party shortly and that he had done his best for the APC.

According to TheCable, Jibrin decided to leave the party after a spat with Kano Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.

Jibrin had hoped to seek for a position in the house of representatives on the party’s platform, but he was reportedly barred by Ganduje, with whom he had a five-year feud.

On Sunday, Kano APC chairman Abdullahi Abbas claimed Ganduje has begun measures to prevent Jibrin from defecting from the party.

Ganduje, he claimed, has requested for the problem among those aspiring to represent the federal constituency of Kiru/Bebeji to be resolved.

“An invitation has been sent to all the aspiring candidates for the position,” Abbas said.

“Abdulmumin Jibrin Kofa has already accepted the proposal and is ready to attend the meeting.”
