BREAKING: Doyin Okupe Resigns As DG Of LP Presidential Campaign [PHOTO]

Dr. Doyin Okupe, the director general of the Labour Party Presidential Campaign Council, has left his position.

Following his Monday court conviction for offenses involving money laundering, Okupe resigned.

He was sentenced to two years in prison after being found guilty of laundering N240 million.

He was given the choice of a N13 million fine, with a Monday at 4:30 p.m. payment deadline.

He finished on time.

In announcing his intention to leave the LP PCC on Monday, Okupe stated he will support Peter Obi, the party’s presidential candidate for the 2023 elections, using the sign-off Obi used on Twitter.

He tweeted on his Twitter handle on Tuesday: “It’s time to step aside.

“But I am with PO and the Obidients and the Presidential Campaigns till God gives us victory in Jesus Name.”
