BREAKING: Court Orders Arrest Of Former NNPC Boss, Yakubu Andrew, Wife For Contempt

Mr. Andrew Yakubu, the former Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), and his wife, Sarah, have been issued a warrant of arrest by a Magistrate’s Court in Kaduna State for failing to appear before it despite summons.

The Chief Magistrate, Blessing Dauda, issued the arrest warrant after receiving an application from the complainant’s lawyer, Kimi Livingstone Appah.

Yakubu and his wife were accused of ignoring many court summonses in a case involving criminal conspiracy, theft, mischief, and criminal trespass between them and one Mr. Timothy Giwa.

According to a warrant form received by SaharaReporters on Monday, Mr. Andrew should be arrested by police and brought before the court on June 28, 2021.

Our correspondent also acquired a copy of the ex parte order allowing Yakubu substituted service using substituted means.

Yakubu purchased a house at number 89 Ahmadu Ahijo Road, Barnawa, Kaduna, and Giwa’s father acted as one of the agents for sales and purchase of the said premises from the original owners, according to an application for issuance of criminal summons filed by Kimi on behalf of the complainant with No: KMD/25/2021.

That prior to the sale and transfer of the buyer’s title (Yakubu). The plaintiff and his wife were living in the house when it was purchased, and the buyer requested that the complainant and his wife stay in the house and look after the property for them.

However, in an unexpected turn of events, the buyer was alleged to have ousted the complaint from the house and removed the roofing and windows in an attempt to make it inhabitable.

Yakubu is also accused of taking the complainant’s property, which includes a television, two boxes of clothes, and N1,205, 000. As one of the sales and buy agents for the original owners of the property.
