BET Awards: Singer Burna Boy Wins Best International Act
Burna Boy, a popular Nigerian musician, won Best International Act at the recent BET Awards.
Burnaboy and Wizkid were previously nominated for the 2021 Bet Awards, according to NEWS DIRECT.
The Awards’ organizers announced nominations for the 2021 awards on their official Instagram account.
Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, better known as Wizkid, and Damini Ogulu, better known as Burna Boy, were nominated for the best “International Act” category, along with several other international artists.
The announcement read, “We are back and excited to bring culture’s biggest night, the 2021 ‘BETAwards,’ safely back to Los Angeles to celebrate this year’s incredible roster of nominees.”
Burna, on the other hand, won the prize for Best International Act.
Burnaboy expressed his gratitude after earning the prize, despite the fact that it was his third time winning it.
He acknowledged that it had not been easy, but that there was no turning back now.
He said, “I just want to give thanks to God who has made this possible. I also want to thank my mama and the whole management crew who work effortlessly with me.
“This is my third one, back to back it’s not been easy but we aren’t stopping here. I also want to thank the BET management crew for this beautiful award.”
