Suspected Fulani Militia Invade 12 Villages, Kill 42, Burn 338 Houses In Zangon Kataf

According to the Atyap Community Development Association (ACDA) in Kaduna State’s Zangon Kataf Local Government Area, suspected Fulani militia raided 12 of its villages, killing 42 people and burning 338 homes, with seven people injured.

According to the Atyap people, eight automobiles, thirteen motorcycles, generators, food, and household things were plundered or burnt by fire, and seven churches were destroyed.

Addressing newsmen in Kaduna on Saturday, the President ACDA, Samuel T. Achie said, “In all the attacks in the 12 different villages as at today 15th July 2021, a total of 42 people were killed and 338 houses burnt with seven people wounded. Several other valuables were not left out as eight cars, 13 motorcycles, generators, food and domestic items were either looted or consumed by fire.”

He pointed out that the attacks by the suspected Fulani militia encompassed the Chiefdom’s Atyap-dominated districts, as if it were a premeditated attempt to wipe out the Atyap race, emphasising that these attacks are not simply herders or banditry, but a systematic attempt to wipe out the Atyap race.

He went on to say that they had worked hard to maintain peace with all of the people in the chiefdom, emphasizing the importance of this briefing.

He claimed that the Atyap people were left defenseless for the duration of the carnage, claiming that no place in all the areas attacked has a distance of more than 10 to 15 minutes’ drive from one security checkpoint to the next, and that not only lives and homes were destroyed, but also crops and places of worship.
