Southwest Governors Activate Measures Against Yoruba Nation Agitators After Invasion

Southwest governments have taken measures to prevent the invasion by secessionist agitators.

They have enhanced security in their state secretariats and Government Houses, issuing warnings to troublemakers to cease their nefarious activities or face the consequences.

This decision follows an unsuccessful attempt by masked uniformed individuals to invade the Oyo State Government Secretariat in Agodi, Ibadan, over the weekend, intending to raise their secessionist flag.

Ondo State Government declared zero tolerance for violent agitations, cautioning that severe punishment awaits any individual causing trouble under the guise of agitating for the Yoruba nation. The Special Adviser to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa on Information, Olugbenga Omole, affirmed the state’s support for the Federal Government, vowing to arrest anyone working against the unity of Nigeria.

In Osun State, heavy security presence was observed at government facilities to prevent secessionist invasion. Governor Ademola Adeleke called for unity and support for President Tinubu’s federal reform efforts, urging agitators to engage in the quest for a truly federal system in Nigeria.

Ekiti State also beefed up security in Ado-Ekiti to prevent a recurrence of the violence witnessed in Ibadan. Security vehicles patrolled strategic locations, and security operatives were stationed at government buildings. The state government assured residents of adequate security measures to maintain peace and prevent disturbances.

Meanwhile, Ogun State assured that it was not under any threat of invasion, with security agencies prepared to prevent any breach of public peace. Special Adviser Information, Kayode Akinmade, affirmed that the government is vigilant, and security operatives are fully capable of maintaining order.
