Reps Speaker Sends Tough Message To Tinubu, Reveals Ministers He Should Sack

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, has urged President Bola Tinubu to take decisive action.

He specifically told the President to remove underperforming Ministers in a bid to address the ongoing security challenges facing the nation. During Tuesday’s plenary session, Abbas emphasized the need for new strategies to tackle the pervasive insecurity that poses a threat to the nation’s stability.

Abbas expressed concern over the continuous escalation of security issues despite previous efforts. He emphasized the urgency of adopting fresh approaches, stating, “The threats of insurgency are severely testing the peace and stability of our country.”

Abbas mourned the recent tragic incidents, including the murders of Nabeeha Al-Kadriyar and Folorunsho Ariyo, the Plateau massacre, and the blast in Ibadan, Oyo State.

In his plea to President Tinubu, Abbas urged greater performance and accountability from service chiefs and security agencies. He stressed the importance of tough decisions and the potential need for changes within the security apparatus, emphasizing that “the cost of inaction is far too great to bear.”
