Police parade man for kidnapping uncle

A 27 years old man who has been identified as Abubakar Musa has been paraded by the Kano State Police for abducting his uncle for a ransom of one million naira

According to Abdullahi Kiyawa, the Police spokesperson in Kano, he said the suspect was arrested with two AK 47 riffles which he allegedly uses for his criminal operations.

Mr Abdullahi Kiyawa sent a video to journalists on Sunday that shows how Abubakar Musa was being paraded.

He also noted that the suspect was one of the criminals operating in Kano, Birnin Gwari in Kaduna State and some other northern states.

The suspect, Musa, in the video disclosed that he kidnapped his uncle and also collected the ransom before letting him go.

Abubakar Musa who hails from Rurum village in Tudun Wada Local Government Area of Kano state said he borrowed the guns found in his possession from one Muhammadu Bakanoma in Zamfara State to confront another bandit he named as Malam at Birnin Gwari, whom he accused of kidnapping his wife and daughter.

“I am a cattle rustler. I once abducted my uncle Alhaji Haruna and my cousin Bappan Jauro six years ago. These are the only two persons I have ever abducted. I abducted him (Alhaji Haruna) because his two children (Medi and Bappan Jauro) has kidnapped my younger sister, Hafsat”.

“I released him after receiving one million naira ransom. We are now living with him (Alhaji Haruna) in the same compound”.

Mr Abdullahi Kiyawa said investigations was still ongoing into the suspect’s alleged crimes.
