Police Council Confirms Usman Baba As IGP

President Muhammadu Buhari presided over a meeting of the Police Council that confirmed Usman Alkali Baba as the substantive Inspector General of Police (IGP).

Minister of Police Affairs, Maigari Dingyadi, made the announcement at the end of a council meeting held at the First Lady Wing of the presidential residence in Abuja on Friday.

According to the minister, Buhari has asked the incoming IGP to ensure that insecurity in the country is kept to a bare minimum.
